An antivirus program's detection and protection capabilities are limited by its virus signatures library. New viruses are impossible to detect and by the time you update the signatures library, the virus can turn your system inside-out. Besides the usual protection measures, SecureAPlus comes with an application whitelisting feature, which blocks any malicious programs, before they get the chance to do anything. The software also allows you to make various configurations, to make it work according to your own preferences.

SecureAPlus is available in two versions. The Enterprise edition comes with the most features, but it is not free. The other version, called Freemium, offers the same level of protection and it comes with a free one-year license. Regardless of which version you choose, you will be able to install the application in roughly one minute. The software can be used on Windows XP and any later version, as well as various Server editions and it will not conflict with other antivirus programs on your computer.

Essentially, the user interface is a main control panel, from which you can access different configuration menus, scan you hard drive and perform other operations. Installing and launching SecureAPlus is sufficient to protect your system against malware threats. The ideal settings are made by default, but you can change them according to your personal needs or add new applications to the whitelist.

Rather than blocking only known threats, like a traditional antivirus, SecureAPlus blocks everything, except certified applications. You can set the program to trust the same certificates as Windows or trust only a series of certificates, which are present in its own database. The software also allows you to add your own applications and certificates to its whitelist. Although SecureAPlus relies primarily on its whitelists to block unknown threats, it still has a regular signatures database, which can be updated manually or automatically.

SecureAPlus incorporates other familiar features, from traditional antivirus programs, like the possibility of setting up inclusions and exclusions. You can also turn on a real time scanning feature or scan entire partitions or specific folders manually.

Pros

SecureAPlus combines the features of a traditional antivirus programs with advanced application whitelisting capabilities. It allows you to add your own trusted applications, certificates or user accounts to the whitelist and make other configurations as well. Additionally, the Freemium edition is offered with a free one-year license.

Cons

There are no serious drawbacks to mention. SecureAPlus provides you with everything you need to build an ironclad protection system against known or unknown malware threats.
